Flour Sack Gesture Sheet and Action

  For this assignment, I created a flour sack character and then animated it preforming an action. First, I created the sketches of the flour sack with the aid of lines of action, in various poses. For the action animation, I wanted to stay with the fantasy-like theme that I have been going with for my projects. I decided I wanted to have my character attempt to pull an axe out of a cliff wall. Emphasizing the weight and how stuck the axe is, I made sure to have the character attempt to pull multiple times with the strength and length of the pull increasing every time. To emphasize that the character is, at heart, a soft sack of flour, I animated it so the weight and inertia of the axe coming out of the wall caused it to fall backwards, sending the axe flying.

Overlapping Action Assignment

    This assignment, I wanted to stick with more or a fantastical/old fashioned theme with the lantern and candle. For the main moving object or "platform" in this animation is the lantern, while the effected object or main "pendulum" is the flame on the candle. The lantern is moved by the wind, and the flame of the candle "swings" in the opposite direction of the action.  I had export issues and I am unsure why the video flickers a few times in the beginning. It doesn't show in the harmony file, and I've tried multiple times to save and export the video in multiple places.
